![]() "I always had this thing for ducks; so I figured, I couldn't do anything but sit. I remembered a piece of wood in my basement. I proceeded to carve a Mallard duck. It was a huge accomplishment for me at such a you age! After it was carved, I found some paint my grandpa had in the basement he used for his weathervanes. The paint was mediocre; it took to long to dry. So my mom went and bought me some acrylic paints, which proved much more useful at the time. (Wood carvings, wild life paintings, and seascapes which are among my favorites). Then i discovered Oils. I always thought they took too long to dry to but with certain driers ant oils they dry and mix better than acrylics. I have done many wood carvings and paintings from the smallest Humming Birds ond Owls, to a lifesize Bald Eagle! (Which you can see here). I have been avidly creating my art for 47 years and am considered a master carver! There isn't anything I can't carve. I challenge anyone in the world to create something more realistic than what I do! I have worked with stone, copper, rock, metal, clay, and of course, wood. I've also done many paintings, whale carvings, bears, dolphins, deer, and 3D paintings with carvings protruding from them. My love however, is carving Eagles and other birds of prey." Once, a woman at an artshow got mad at me. When I asked her why, she said I killed a humming bird and stuffed it! Then, she knocked my lifesize Red Tail Hawk off its stand and broke it! Needless to say, she felt pretty silly when I told her it was carved from wood!" Someone once even called the Fish and Wildlife foundation on me for having a stuffed bird!:) And they came!
